Come Sunday

A Liberated Documentary by Christian Lee

Members of the First AME Church, the oldest African American church in Los Angeles, gather to worship in a time of national unrest. Meditating on the lyrical legacy of Black Christian tradition in the neighborhood of West Adams, Come Sunday lingers on the tender moments that begin to define poetic resistance. The short documentary identifies with the vérité camera, the spiritual stillness, and the resting beauty of liberated documentary filmmaking.
